Project Summaries
:
We present below a few project summaries – these projects
have involved all aspects of embedded system development, including hardware
and firmware design, motor control, PC-based software under DOS/Win 95,
communication on RS 485 serial port, Ethernet, etc.
Access Control
System :This
project involved the complete software and layout design, protocol development
and implementation for a 245 card readers installed in a plant spread over
8 sq. km.
Automated
Check - Weighing System : This project involved the development
of a PC-based control system for a screw feeder based dosing system and
its automation components.
Joystick
Controller for Coordinate Measuring Machine :
This project consisted of developing a multi axis controller in a distributed
architechture, to control the 3 axes of a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine.
Point
of Sale ( POS ) controller : This product is an 8051
based controller with interface to a membrane keypad, LCD display, a printer
and PC-interface through RS 232 serial port.
Control
System for Diamond Processing Machines :This project involved
development of a PC based 3 axis control system to kerf/saw diamonds using
lasers. User friendly GUIs enable quick operation.
Control
System for a Laser Pill Drilling System : A integrated
control system for drilling pills with lasers ( for developing Sustained
Release Formulations ). This system has extensive laser control capabilities
( using our VLASER
library ) and a powerful GUI for operator/researcher.
Plant
to Man Paging System : This project involved development
of a complete hardware and software solution for an automated paging system
a fault in the process automatically pages an operator/maintenance personnel.
Parallel
Port based data acquisition system : This project enabled
the user to interface his old PCs and PC-XTs to analog inputs using the
parallel port.
Labelling
Machine Controller : Essentially a single axis controller,
this project involved software for on-line synchronizing of speed of label
delivery and package/ bottle delivery.
